How a grandmother’s kitchen became Daytona Beach’s favorite bakery
When Meredith Howell was a little girl, her favorite thing in the world was walking to Bea’s Bakery with her grandmother. The bell on the door, the warm air that smelled like butter and sugar, the glass case full of cookies lined up in neat little rows.
She always chose the sprinkle cookie. Every single time. It wasn’t just the rainbow colors or the soft, chewy center—it was the ritual. The walk. The choosing. The first bite, shared on a bench outside with Grandma.
Years passed. Meredith pursued other paths, built a career, started a family. But the dream of a bakery never left. It sat in the back of her mind like the smell of something wonderful baking just out of sight.
Chip & Dough is the bakery Meredith always wanted to walk into. A place where cookies are made the way they used to be—from scratch, with real ingredients, and with the kind of love that only comes from baking for people you care about.
Some businesses start with a business plan.
Chip & Dough started with a memory.
A glass case in a corner bakery. A grandmother’s hand. The question—“Which one do you want today?”—even though the answer was always the same. The sprinkle cookie.
That cookie was never just flour and sugar. It was the feeling of being chosen, of being taken somewhere special, of someone making time to share something sweet with you. That’s the feeling Meredith bakes into every single cookie at Chip & Dough.
It’s why we don’t mass-produce. It’s why we preorder only. It’s why every batch is mixed by hand. Because the cookies that matter most are the ones made with intention.
Real butter, real eggs, real everything. No frozen dough, no shortcuts, no “close enough.” If it goes into our bowl, it belongs there.
We bake in small batches so every cookie gets the attention it deserves. When you bite into one, you should be able to tell someone cared.
Born in Daytona Beach, made for neighbors. Cookies bring people together—around a table, at a party, on a park bench. That connection is what we’re really baking.
Every cookie is baked after you order it. Nothing sits on a shelf. Nothing waits under a heat lamp. When you pick it up, it was made for you.
Every cookie we bake carries a piece of that walk to the bakery with Grandma. Real ingredients. Real care. Real cookies, made the way they used to be.
We promise to never cut corners, never rush a batch, and never forget why we started—because the best things in life are simple, sweet, and shared with people you love.
